The Ticket In's First Copy Arrived

After receiving the first copy of The Ticket In I have learned something about self-publishing,...timing.

I had no idea just what a book publisher goes through helping people like me out. If it weren't for the wonderful customer service and package deal at Bookstand Publishing this milestone may have been more difficult. Bookstand Publishing made this process really easy, only had to come up with half of the cost in the beginning until all was complete.

What is cool is that I already have some copies sold, the best part about this whole venture is that a portion of the proceeds will go to Birch Community Services and Lents Baptist Outreach Ministries. So every copy purchased will wind up benefiting someone in need.

I am looking forward to adding a link to The Ticket In web site.

Off To The Publisher

So after compiling the first 100 poems written for what I call, The Ticket In, the manuscript has been sent off to the publisher. So onto the next phase of being a published author. Of course none of this would have happened if it weren't for the ministry to begin with. God knows I love to write. Apparently I just needed an outlet and drive to keep going every week pushing out poetry from my heart and faith.

Soon, The Ticket In will be available on line at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other E Commerce Book Stores. Remember that a portion of the proceeds will go to BCS and Lents Baptist Out Reach Ministries so every book bought will help others in need.

To be honest I am not sure what to expect from The Ticket In other than just sharing the love of Jesus through this gift of poetry. After all isn't He the light that shines for all to see? And shouldn't we share in shining His light for others to see in this dark world? Yeah, I may receive some persecution for having The Ticket In published, but I would rather suffer persecution for doing something good than for doing something bad. Jesus suffered for all of us. Why shouldn't I suffer for Him?

It's the devil that does the tempting and God who does the testing. Remember that even during a test the teacher's quite.

Born To Be A Winner

The Ticket In continues to evolve with a poem every Friday taken into Birch Community Services. The nice lady at the front desk has come to expect something from me. I have been blessed with some kind of gift that allows my creative juices to flow in abundance. It is so cool to see the radiant face after she reads these poems. Words do have power, it is just a matter of how we choose to use the words we have come to know and say.

It is important that we encourage one another, use words that inspire and motivate each other that produce and move us forward to extract a living from this earth in a worthy and valuable manner. There is yet so much to be done before the revelation occurs, roads to be smoothed, valleys to be filled, and repentant sinners calling and falling to a knee. There are still those that deny Christ and then there are those that don't even try to know Christ. If this planet was spoken into existence by God then why is it to hard to believe that God planted His Holy seed within a virgin to come out and walk this earth He created in the flesh? Some people believe in aliens, some people believe in other religious stuff too. Why deny prophecy? We still look to Nostradamus for prophetic answers. Why is the Bible any different other than it was written so long ago. It seems to me that when ever I read the Bible the words come alive to me and I am able to apply the promises spoken to my life by living out what it says in the Bible.

I am no preacher by any means and I am not so sure I would want to maintain and be recognized with such reproachable title. I however a Deacon at Lents Baptist and attend a Bible Study Fellowship class every week. Currently we are studying the book of Genesis. One thing I have learned is that I am so fortunate to have men such as Moses, King David and people like that who have revealed God to me through written word. I have always wondered what greater things Jesus was speaking about that we are to be doing. As far as I see it there is no greater thing than what He did for us at the cross.

Well I came into this world with nothing and I will be leaving with nothing. When I lay down for the eternal rest I will go knowing that I did my best. I may not have passed His test but I have certainly been blessed.

Until the next blog post for The Ticket In Keep your faith strong and alive, be confident in all you do because you were born a winner too.

Flying Signs - In The Middle Of The Internet

Recently updated The Ticket In web site with another video poem and a written poem titled, "Priest of the Kingdom"

The other night in the, "Challenge and Success", class I attend on Friday nights I was mentioning the milestones with The Ticket In web site. As I was describing the web site pages I have worked on, the support page came up. It seems as though I am flying my sign right in the middle of the internet, is what I think I said. Really isn't that what any web site is a sign on the internet.

Speaking of signs and flying them there was this one sign that I got to read the other day while waiting for the light to change. The guy flying sign was willing to take insults and profanity for $4.20. I just started laughing,...and this was right around the Christ-mas rush. I still wonder how much money that sign brought him.

Maybe one day this sign will bring some $ into my mailbox. After all I do have the support page on The Ticket In web site. I always tell myself, hey better things have happened and this sign may just get seen more than one at an intersection because this is the internet.

Dreams do come true and The Ticket In web site is just a bit of proof from that.

When the checks start rolling in I will upload all supporters and the generous donation amount on the support page. Hey,...why not. As I have said before,... a closed mouth is never fed.

A Good Habit - Making People Smile

Tomorrow morning I get to take in another poem to Birch Community Services for The Ticket In. To be honest I believe it is more of a habit now because I really don't know where the words come from sometimes but they seem to work out rather well.

Maybe it has something to with something called,..faith. After a couple years of writing these little poems every week I just believe there will be some kind of poem or prophetic words I will hand the lady at BCS every week. She has come to expect them, it seems as though I wouldn't be able to get in otherwise. I know that isn't the case but it sure has become a habit and a good one at that.

If there were ever a habit to have I feel this would be the habit to have. Being able to put a smile on someone's face with some kind words on paper is a great habit to have. Instead of flicking life away into ashes I seem to be building a foundation with writing words on paper made from the ashes.

The poem that I will be taking in tomorrow is titled,..."Accepted"

Look for it on the web site soon. I will continue to update the web site just as I will work at this continuous posting effort to build The Ticket In's exposure on the internet.
